09/02/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cala was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Cala was curled up behind the bogus paper at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Cala slowly turns her head away and feint sleeps. Reaction to cage door opening: Cala remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Cala lips licks with her ears bent flat and slowly leans away as you approach. She flinches and closes her eyes when touched and tries to bury her head under the paper. Her body is tense/ stiff when touched and she’s unsure of contact. Reaction to being picked up: Cala tenses up and whips around when attempting to pick up and doesn’t feel comfortable being held. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Cala tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
