Subjective: Alert, calm, wound under right arm
Observed Behavior – Allows all handling, purring
Evidence of Trauma seen – Wound under right arm
Objective
BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9
EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: Clean teeth – adult incisors and canines
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Slightly distended, non painful, no discrete masses palpated
U/G: Female, presumed intact
MSI: Thickened mass in right axilla with 2 cm long full-thickness laceration at the center. Muscle is exposed and there is a mild amount of purulent discharge. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal: Normal externally
Assessment: Wound in right axilla – does not appear consistent with bite wound
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
1. Start Clavamox drops 0.5 ml PO BID x10 days
2. Sedate for clip/clean/flush +/- surgical closure
