Hello, my name is Buzz. My animal id is #10663. I am a male black kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 6 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 24-Oct-2017.
Buzz is being placed at risk due to being underage and underweight, conjunctivitis, and diarrhea. Buzz is a bit under socialized but does warm up to handlers after time.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 5-7 weeks based on weight, dentition and overall appearance Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned neg on intake History : Found with 5 other kittens, no mother. One kitten passed away at admission. Subjective: Alert, in a huddle with littermates Observed Behavior – Hissing, yowling and trying to get away from handling Objective BAR, BCS 5/9 EENT: OU moderate chemosis, erythema, mucoid discharge. Ears clean. No nasal discharge. Oral Exam: Clean deciduous teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male kitten MSI: Flea dirt. Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, healthy hair coat. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: 1. Conjunctivitis 2. Diarrhea – R/O GI parasites 3. Flea dirt Prognosis: Fair Plan: 1. Erythromycin OU BID x10 days 1088

Behavior Condition: 3. Yellow
Upon intake, Buzz was hissing, swatting, yowling, and needed to be picked up with a towel to collar, take picture, and take weight.
If yes, Please elaborate:: Buzz is a 5-week old male black and white kitten that was found as a stray with his 4 siblings. Finder said Buzz was sick and therefore needed to be brought into the center.

Oral Exam: Clean deciduous teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female kitten MSI: Flea dirt. Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, healthy hair coat. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Soft stool caked on anus Assessment: 1. Conjunctivitis, possible corneal ulcer and/or buphthalmia 2. Diarrhea – R/O GI parasites 3. Flea dirt Prognosis: Fair Plan: 1. Erythromycin OU BID x10 days 2. Simbadol 0.07 ml SQ SID x10 days 3. Monitor eye as swelling resolves – may need to enucleate 1088
Pt doing really well today!! Still hissy and scared. But the periocular and conjunctival swelling has started to come down, and the cornea is occasionally visible – I don’t see any corneal lesions today. 1088
Hx: On erythromycin ophth ointment for severely swollen periocular tissue/chemosis and conjunctivitis OD. Today there is moderate chemosis but the cornea is visible and appears clear. Continue treatment. 1088
Recheck for conjunctivitis/last day of treatment: S/O: BARH BCS 4/9 – OU clean/clear A: conjunctivitis resolved P: no treatment at this time
