Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Independent KNOWN HISTORY: Butter was brought in with limited information on their behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 9/6/17 Curled up behind litter box, stiff posture, eyes fully dilated. Flinched back when door opened. Pressed against back wall when attempted touch. Very fearful. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Butter remains tense, crouched position at the back hiding behind the litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Butter remains immobile in place with no interest. Reaction to cage door opening: Butter tightly curls up with tail close to the body, alert with an intense stare, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Butter accepts the touch while she slowly leans away from the assessor’s hand. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to his new home and family at his own pace.
