I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/03/2017 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

07/03/17 19:04 Butter is a Brown tabby DSH who was found in an apartment building. He allowed finders to pet him but hissed and swatted when trying to put him in a carrier. During intake Butter hid his face but allowed all handling for collaring and scanning.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/5/17- Observed Behavior – nervous but allows all handling EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Butter looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Butter remains in place, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Butter head bunts the assessor’s hand, purrs, rolls over and appreciates the petting. Reaction to being picked up: Butter becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Butter interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
