***SAFE 07/10/16*** Bubbie was lucky enough to be spared from the list on 07/01. Sadly, she is back, facing death again. Bubbie was brought into the ACC as a stray so not much is known about her past. What we do know is that she is scared and nervous and in defense mode, she came in still lactating without her kittens and with a wound on her head. she will not tolerate any petting or handling. Not showing the ACC she is a team player is probably how she ended up back here. Well, tonight she has some stiff competition, 40 other cats begging to be saved. So Bubbie needs some help. Without it she will surely die. Give Bubbie a shot a life, she will need to pulled by a rescue due to her fear, but with patience, understanding, and some work by an experienced person, hopefully she will come out of his shell.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bubbie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Bubbie was curled up in the back of the kennel with wide eyes focused on all movements. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bubbie makes eye contact with the assessor but doesn’t come forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Bubbie flinched and lowers her body when the door opens. Reaction to touch: Bubbie’s ears bend flat, arches her back and hisses as you approach her. She looks around the kennel, tries to flee and doesn’t allow any contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Bubbie is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
