***GONE 08/24/16*** HANDSOME BRYCE LIVED MOST OF HIS LIFE WITH ONE OWNER UNTIL THAT PERSON GAVE HIM AWAY – NOW HIS NEW OWNER DUMPED HIM FOR NO TIME! BRYCE was born in a factory and taken home to live with a family. This family consisted of adults and older kids. Suddenly BRYCE’s owner moved to non pet friendly housing and gave BRYCE away to his roommate. This person has since dumped this 9 year old neutered kitty in the ACC because he states he has no time for him. How much time does a cat need? BRYCE is a shy fella who will warm up if given the chance. It seems his life has been topsy turvy for the last few months- ending with him being abandoned in the ACC. BRYCE has a very easily treated cold from being in the shelter but they will not give him any chance to recover or regroup. BRYCE needs out NOW or at NOON the euth tech will kill him for really – no reason at all. BRYCE NEEDS YOUR HELP TONIGHT – PLEASE SHARE, PLEDGE, BUT MOST OF ALL OFFER TO ADOPT OR FOSTER THIS HANDSOME GINGER BOY. EMAIL THE HELP DESK FOR RESCUE INFO AT [email protected].

08/14/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/14/16 12:26 BASIC INFO Bryce is a 9 year old neutered DSH cat. He was born in a factory and brought home as a kitten. The person who had him most of his life gave him to his roommate, whom they had been living with for 6 months, 6 months ago when he moved to a home that doesn’t allow pets. Bryce’s new owner doesn’t have time to care for him. SOCIALIZATION Bryce is friendly/outgoing with new people. He lived with children 9 and older in the past and was relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He lived with adult women and men in his homes as well. He plays rough, pawing at and biting people who wrestle with him with their hand, but doesn’t break skin. A neighbor brought their cat to his home and he hissed with his back arched. Bryce hasn’t bit/scratched anyone (except while playing as described above). For the past 3 weeks, Bryce has hid under the bed while the staff from a cleaning service cleans his home. When the cleaning staff approach the bed to clean around it, he pops his front half out, growling, swatting at their feet, and trying to bite them. He didn’t make contact with them because they were wearing shoes. He then retreats back under the bed. BEHAVIOR Bryce meows on the bus. He runs away when someone touches his paws. He doesn’t mind when someone bathes him, brushes him, picks up/holds him, puts him in a carrier, or wakes him up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Bryce’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, quiet, and medium energy. He follows them and sits in their laps. He plays with puzzle toys and laser pointers. He lived inside and slept with his owner. He ate wet Wellness food and got chicken as a treat. He’s littertrained, used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. He scratched the couch and carpet in addition to his diagonal carpet and wood scratching board. INTAKE Bryce was a little tense as he walked around and looked around on the counter. His tail flickered a little (but not super abruptly) at the end. He was tolerant while I pet him, scanned him (-), collared him, took his pictures, and put him in a new carrier. He lied down in his carrier, his paws under his chest and his head resting, but still following movements with his gaze. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

08/17/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Former owner stated Bryce is friendly/outgoing with new people. He lived with children 9 and older in the past and was relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. He lived with adult women and men in his homes as well. He plays rough, pawing and nipping people who wrestles with him with their hand, but doesn’t break skin. A neighbor brought their cat to his home and he hissed with his back arched. Also, describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, quiet, and medium energy. Reaction to assessor: Bryce looks tense, hiding in the cat den when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Bryce slowly leans his head out while he looks around his surroundings. Reaction to touch: Bryce slightly head-butts the assessor’s hand, but remains wary and retreats back into the den when he hears sudden noises. Placement determination: Experience / no child Bryce tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
