Safe - 4-12-2016 Manhattan Rescue: K9KASTLE Please honor your pledges: http://www.k9kastle.org/#!donate/ca4p
**SAFE 04/12/16** HANDSOME SUPER KITTY TO BE KILLED AT NOON TOMORROW! Bruce Wayne is a 6 year old tuxedo wearin’ young man, declawed and neutered! He is packed and ready to go! Bruce Wayne is stressed out in the shelter environment and has caught the kitty cold, so now the ACC has signed his life away! A volunteer writes: “Hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got a superhero living at ACC! Just like his comic book counterpart, this Bruce Wayne has found himself an orphan too. With a great report from his previous home, he is described as friendly, affectionate, very playful, confident, assertive & talkative (at times) with a medium-very high activity level. He loves chasing toys and exploring his surroundings; and would love to find a spacious new bat cave to explore. But let’s all remember that even superheros need a little help too, and this superhero needs a new home and family to rescue. At 6 years young, Bruce is being passed over by his kitten counterparts in residence here. Bruce wants anyone coming to ACC to know that age is just a number, and “It’s not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.”” Please give this boy a chance to shine in a relaxed home environment. Advocate for him TONIGHT!

03/29/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bruce Wayne’s former owner stated around strangers he is fearful. He has not been around too many people. He has been kept only indoors. He lived with a small Chihuahua in the home and he was respectful of the dog. He has not been around any other cats or dogs. Also, described as friendly, affectionate, very playful, confident, assertive & talkative (at times) with a medium-very high activity level. Reaction to assessor: Bruce Wayne looks neutral in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Bruce Wayne remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Bruce Wayne slowly engages the assessor’s hand, stands with tail up and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, after a few strokes he becomes aggitated with the touch and began to hiss and growl, while he continues to solicit. Placement determination: Experience / no child Initially Bruce Wayne solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body he begins to randomly hiss and growl at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Bruce Wayce becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
