**GONE 08/03/16** BRITNEY WOULD LIKE TO CELEBRATE HER INDEPENDENCE IN A NEW HOME!!…..One that would appreciate a cat that is a self-starter!! Many people are working in the big city and would like a cat that can be alone for periods of time and not feel neglected….Sadly, her former owners sound like they just got tired of her after eight years and made up an excuse that she was destructive….because she scratched the sofa even though they said she used her scratching post…..
BRITNEY is 8 years young and already SPAYED. She is on the shy and fearful side. She needs a guardian who will let her ask for affection on her own terms and not be disturbed if she likes to spend time alone…..THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLACE FOR BRITNEY TO BE RIGHT NOW….She needs that one special PURRSON who is looking for a cat with her qualifications……SPEAK UP FOR A SHY ONE TONIGHT!! Apply to FOSTER or ADOPT BRITNEY NOW!!

She mostly lounges around the house and sleeps and enjoys playing with mice toys, balls and bells. Reaction to assessor: Britney was hiding underneath the blanket and avoids all contact. Reaction when softly spoken to: Britney doesn’t come out and shifts around under the blanket. Reaction to cage door opening: Britney remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Britney lip licks with wide eyes when you uncover her from the blanket. She is wary of her surroundings and slowly leans in for rubs. Her body is tense when pet, she keeps her tail curled up and continues to lip lick. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Britney tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
