07/06/16
Curled up in the back. Hesitant of contact. Tail at side. Allows all handling but a bit tense when held.
07/08/16
Curled up at the front of the kennel. Hissed when I approached. Allows petting and warms up fairly quickly. Leans in for rubs, closes eyes. Tense when held.
Brain was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
Reaction to assessor: Brain was near the front of the kennel with his body curled up.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Brain hissed at the assessor and remains motionless with wide eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening: Brain lowers his body and inches away.
Reaction to touch: Brain is hesitant of contact and slowly warms up when touched. He sniffs the assessor’s hand, raises his rear and allows petting.
Reaction to being picked up: Brain is a bit tense when held but allows all handling.
Behavior Determination: Experience
Brain tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
