For a New Family to Know: Boobie is described as being mellow, shy and independent. He will stay in his favorite spots, or move around from spot to spot, throughout the day and will follow his owner when he wants to be fed. He plays with balls, string toys, wand toys, stuffed toys and laser pointers. He sleeps anywhere in the home, eats both wet and dry food, and is litter box trained to use an uncovered box with crystal litter. He scratches on the furniture and wood floors so he would benefit from multiple scratching posts around the home with a variety of materials.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Growling, flicking tail
ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 10/24/17 Lying in litter box with a low, flat body. Eyes are wide and pupils are dilated. He tolerates petting while turning his head around and feint biting the air. Needs time to adjust. 10/25/17 On top of kuranda bed, eyes alert and ears forward. He jumps down for treats and eats a couple of them. Allows petting along his head and body briefly with tail raised, before trying to jump out of his kennel. Really wants to get out – keeps trying to dart out from underneath my arms as I attempt to pet him. More relaxed today regardless, no hissing. Allowed petting.
Cage Condition:: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor:: Boobie remains calm and was lying down in his litter box.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Boobie is curious and leans forward to investigate.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Boobie becomes alert.
Reaction to touch:: Boobie lip licks and becomes focused on the assessor’s hand when approached. He closes his eyes when touched and slowly warms up with attention. He shifts his body weight and leans in when rubbed on his cheeks. After a few soft pets he nudges the assessor and solicits attention but seems to prefer being pet on his head. When touched along his body he quickly whipped around and vocalized as a warning.
ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Laid back
VOCAL:: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: : Shy ,Affectionate,Curious
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: Destructive
Potential challenges comments:: Boobie is reported to have a history of scratching on furniture, and should go to a home that can safely cat-proof chairs, couches and the carpet in the home.
