Needless to say, BONNIE came into the shelter perfectly healthy and now has the kitty cold and for THIS only she is scheduled to die!! This quiet sweetheart did terrific on her behavior exam, displays a gentle comfort with humans, and enjoys getting her beauty rest-you can typically find her curled up in her cat loft, when she’s not on the receiving end of affection from the volunteers who adore her. 05/31/16 20:31 Basic information: Bonnie is a three year old domestic long hair. She was found as a stray when she was a kitten. She was surrendered because her previous owner lost his home. She has no known injuries or health problems but has not been to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Bonnie is friendly and outgoing and when she played she was exuberant. She has not been around cats. She lived with a dog and with him she was fearful. Behavior: Bonnie has never attempted to bite a person or animal. In car rides she is relaxed. She struggles if she is given a bath or if her nails are trimmed. She isn’t bothered if her coat is brushed. She was friendly if she was picked up and held. She isn’t bothered if she is put in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Bonnie is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, shy, fearful and independent. She has a medium activity level. When her previous owner was home she would tend to follow her around. She likes to play with balls and string. She was kept indoors only. At night she slept on her owner’s bed. She ate both wet and dry 9 lives. She is litter box trained and used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. She had a vertical scratching post made of rough rope and smooth wood. Behavior during intake: Bonnie’s body was low. She allowed me to pet her and colla her and showed no signs of aggression.

Bonnie’s former owner stated around strangers she is friendly and outgoing and when she played she was exuberant. She has not been around cats. She lived with a dog and with him she was fearful. Reaction to assessor: Bonnie looks neutral, crouched position on her cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Bonnie remains in place, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: During the stroke Bonnie leans into the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Bonnie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
