09/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bongo came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She hissed, growled, and swatted during her initial medical examination, though she tolerated more handling during a veterinary recheck the following day. Two days later during her behavior evaluation, Bongo did not aggress though she leaned away from touch. Reaction to assessor: Bongo is at the front of her cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Retreats to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Bongo avoids the assessor’s outstretched hand. She tolerates some gentle touch but leans away. Placement determination: Experienced, adult-only home Bongo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
