***SAFE 07/13/16***BEAUTIFUL BOLT WAS FOUND BY SOMEONE WHO KEPT HER FOR 3 DAYS AND THEN BROUGHT HER TO THE ACC! BOLT was found by someone who brought her into the home for only 3 days…..we wonder why they didn’t keep this sweet cat when she was friendly, well behaved, and even got along with the family dog. Now in the ACC she even was giving head-butts to the assessor and rubbing but because she intermittently hissed – which we all know is just stress – they slapped this friendly cat with an EXPERIENCE rating and sent her straight to the euth list. She was not even given the benefit of the doubt for being a bit nervous of her surroundings in the shelter. The ACC claims they don’t kill adoptable pets but we know they do. BOLT caught the shelter cold and is being punished with death. Unfair you say? We know unfair is part of the ACC way. BOLT needs a foster or adopter to step up and rescue her by NOON Friday. If not, this kitty will be no more. PLEASE HURRY AND RESERVE BOLT ONLINE OR CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL. THIS IS A GREAT KITTY AND SHE ONLY WANTS TO BE YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!! EMAIL [email protected] FOR RESCUE INFO.

07/03/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bolt was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder reports she is friendly and playful and kept her in their home for three days. She was friendly with strangers and allowed them to pick her up. She was relaxed and approached the finder’s dog, sniffing the dog. She was curious of her new surroundings. Upon intake, she allowed all handling, solicited attention, and was very playful. She was also friendly and allowed handling during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Bolt was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bolt rubs her cheeks on her bedding. Reaction to cage door opening: Bolt remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Bolt comes to the front and her tail shoots straight upwards. She head-butts the assessor and rubs her cheeks on various objects, but she appears to become wary of her surroundings; her tail pilo-erects and she hisses. She continues to allow gentle petting, but hisses randomly and continues to look around her surroundings. Reaction to pick up: Bolt allows handling, but becomes antsy and jumps back into her kennel. Placement Determination: Experience Bolt interacts with the observer and appears to appreciate attention, but she may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
