04/28/17 13:52 BASIC INFO Blue A1109581 is a dsh cat. She is being surrendered to the shelter because the owner has an autisitc child in the home who is afraid of Blue. Blue was a gift to the owner a few months ago. blue does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Blue is friendly around strangers. He lived with a young child and he was respectful of the child. Blue plays gentle with adults. He has never lived with another animal. Blue has never scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Blue does not have any behavior issues. He rode quietly in the car. Blue allows you to hold him, pick him up and place him in a carrier. Blue is not bothered if disturbed out of his sleep. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Blue is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. When home, he follows you around. Blue loves toys with bells in them. He loves to play fetch with a toy mouse. He has been kept only indoors. He sleeps anywhere. Blue was fed Meow Mix and Friskies dry food.Blue is litter box trained. He has a regular litter box with Arm and Hammer cat litter. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Blue was easily removed from his carrier. He allowed handling, collaring and photos.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid, Skittish KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: an adult Behavior toward strangers: friendly Behavior toward children: respectful Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Other notes: described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 04/30/17 Underneath kuranda bed with a towel draped over the front. She becomes alert when I lift the towel to get a better look and sniffs around. Pokes her head forward to sniff my hand when extended slowly, but will shift away and blink and lip lick after. Allows brief touch, but will shift her weight to the back and lift her paw up while wrapping her tail against her body. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Blue looks tense, crouched position at the back when approached. Reaction to cage door opening: Blue stiffens up in place alert with eyes dilated. Reaction to touch: Blue slowly sniffs the assessor’s hand then began to low growl with ears to the side and hisses. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Blue is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.

DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: Reported 9 months – could be 8-12 months Microchip noted on Intake? No – placed during exam History : Surrendered, no hx given Subjective: Initially curious, allows handling. Began to growl prior to vaccine administration but allowed vx and MC placement. Was restrained for blood draw and pt began to hiss and growl, jumped away from restraint, jumped off table and ran away, seeking to climb to a higher location. No biting or scratching, but pt would not tolerate restraint after this and the exam was ended. Objective BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Clean teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Tense, no masses palpated U/G: Female, reported spayed, spay scar palpated MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Apparently healthy young adult cat Plan: Placement Prognosis: Excellent 1088
