***SAFE 10/01/16***Blue is living up to his name tonight after being surrendered by his former owner for no time. He lived with them for 2 months of his two years enjoying the company of a dog and playing with his toys. He’s an indoor kitty who takes pride in his home using a litter box and never having an accident. Now he sits in a kitty condo at the ACC hotel waiting to be “evicted.” Please consider adopting or fostering Blue tonight. He’s beginner pet parent rated!

09/07/16 18:19 Basic Information: Blue came into our care because his owner was no longer able to care for him. He is a 2 year old, neutered, grey cat with a white chest. He had been in his owner’s care for approximately two months. Socialization: According to Blue’s owners he is a friendly and relaxed cat that enjoys having his head scratched. The owner mentioned that Blue had lived with a dog, with whom he had a playful relationship with. However the owner also mentioned that she is not sure how Blue would do with other dogs, cats or animals that he is unfamiliar with. She mentioned that he might be nervous and hide before becoming more comfortable. Behavior: Blue is a house broken cat that has not had any accidents. He consistently uses his litter box, which is of the clumping variety. He is not particularly fond of having his coat brushed for a prolonged period of time. The owner mentioned that Blue let her pick him up but is unsure how he would act if a stranger was to do the same. For a New Family to Know He is a indoor cat that does not like being outside. His favorite activity includes playing with toys that move and sititing by the window watching his surroundings. He is friendly and affectionate towards people, and during his intake he was rubbing his head on the counselor’s hand. He eagerly ate the food that was given to him during his evaluation with the counselor. In his owner’s care he was given dry food, Friskies, and Friskies treats. His owner mentioned that Blue did scratch some of the furiniture in her home, but he did not have a scratching post.

Blue’s previous owner reports he is friendly and relaxed, and enjoys having his head scratched. He has lived with a dog and he had a playful relationship with the dog, but the owner is unsure how he would do with other dogs or animals he is unfamiliar with. He may be nervous and hide before becoming comfortable with them. He is not particularly fond of having his coat brushed for a prolonged period of time. His favorite activity includes playing with toys that move and sitting by the window watching his surroundings. Reaction to assessor: Blue was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Blue comes to the front and head-butts he cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Blue remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Blue head-butts, leans in for petting, and rolls over. He is extremely affectionate throughout the interaction and purrs loudly. Reaction to pick up: Blue remains soft and continues to purr. Placement Determination: Beginner Blue interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
