12/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Blane was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Blane was hiding behind his bedding at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Blane’s eyes widen, lip licks and becomes focused on the assessor’s movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Blane remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Blane’s ears bend flat and he leans away with wide eyes when the assessor extends his hand out. He flinches and closes his eyes but allows petting on his head with a slow gentle approach. After a couple pets he lip licks then shifts away and starts stress meowing. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Blane tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
