She has since been spay-aborted. BLACKJACK was friendly and playful with finder’s child but not too keen on their dog. She is AVERAGE rated and calm. Hello, my name is Blackjack. My animal id is #14352. I am a desexed female gray cat at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 1 years 1 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 22-Nov-2017.

Blackjack is at risk for medical reasons, having been diagnosed with Upper Respiratory Infection, which is contagious to other cats. Behaviorally, Blackjack has been assessed as being suitable to most homes.

Pre-surgical exam, anesthesia, and surgery performed by ASPCA. Green linear tattoo placed lateral to incision.
Blackjack was scheduled for an AM treatment of Simbadol 1.8mg/mL. Gave 0.35 mL SQ at 9:02AM from bottle #35 Also gave Robenacoxib 20mg/mL 0.3mL SQ 1215

Behavior Condition: 1. Green
Upon intake, Blackjack had a loose body and soft eyes. Blackjack was slow blinking the entire time. Blackjack allowed all handling.

Basic Information:: Blackjack was found as a stray so information is limited to finder and intake behavior.
How is this cat around strangers?: The finder says Blackjack is very friendly around strangers.
How is this cat around children?: Blackjack was very friendly and playful with the finder’s child.
How is this cat around dogs?: Blackjack attempted to swat and chase after the finder’s dog.
KNOWN HISTORY:: Blackjack was brought in as a stray so we cannot speak her behavior in her previous home. The finder states that Blackjack was friendly around strangers and children, but would attempted to swat and chase the resident dog.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior -tail up, sniffs hand

Reaction to assessor:: Blackjack is resting on her bedding, looking at the assessor with soft eyes and body.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Blackjack lays in place and continues to look at the assessor.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Blackjack remains calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Blackjack leans into the stroke and purrs.
Reaction to being picked up:: Blackjack sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around.
