SAFE 6/15/18 <<6 Month Quarantine>> Orange Beginner Boy Big Mike is ready to give you Big Love @MACCBig Mike came to us as a stray and has bites of unknown origin. Big Mike requires a 6 month in-home isolation with vet visits for the first 4 months and phone calls thereafter. If leaving the 5 boroughs, quarantine MUST be approved by the receiving city or township DOH. Please note, the 5 boroughs are easier for in home quarantine. BIG MIKE is a neighborhood cat that people said was a gentle semi-feral cat. He was brought to the shelter because someone thought he had an injury to his paw. He did not want to stand when placed on the ground. The shelter seemed to find nothing wrong and said he is healthy. Please give this big orange boy a new home.

Vet Notes: 4:35 PM
Hx: Bite wounds to LFL. On Clavamox, robenacoxib, Simbadol. Due for bandage change today.
S: Alert, purring, friendly, allows all handling.
O: BAR-H, BCS 6/9, MMs pink and moist, CRT <2 sec
EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Mild tartar.
PLNs: Not significantly enlarged.
H/L: Eupnic, not ausculted
Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated
M/S/I: Bandage on LFL slipped about 3″. Removed bandage – no swelling, minimal bloody discharge from both the medial antebrachial and dorsal paw wound. Both wounds have good granulation tissue and the dorsal paw pad wound is starting to epithelialize.
Neuro: Alert and appropriate, no sign neurological deficiencies
The bandage had slipped and the cast padding was stuck to the wounds, and removing it was clearly painful and caused the pt to hiss and withdraw his leg. Pt was not cooperative for wound cleaning so he was sedated before continuing.
Sedated with butorphanol 0.1 ml and Dexdomitor 0.3 ml IM
The wounds were cleaned and the bandage was replaced with stirrups, SSD, Telfa, cast padding, roll gauze and VetWrap.
Reversed with 0.3 ml Antisedan
A: Bite wounds are healing well!
Short-term prognosis: Good
P: Continue Clavamox, extend Simbadol additional 4 days. Change bandage every two days.
