*** SAFE 07/13/16 ***HANDSOME TABBY NEEDS AN ANGEL TONIGHT! BIG BOY is such a handsome man! His eyes are absolutely captivating, he seems to be trying to convey his story through his photo. His owner died you see, and he was taken to the shelter. He’s NEUTERED and at only 4 years old, has so much life left to live. He’s so afraid at the ACC that he’s frozen in fear in his cage. Big Boy just wants to know where his friend went, and why can’t he go home? He’s been rated EXPNOCHILD. He is afraid, but has shown no aggression whatsoever. He just needs to be placed back into a loving home, and surely this gentleman will show you the sweet baby he truly is! The ACC has other plans for him however. They want to KILL HIM AT NOON TOMORROW! Please don’t let Big Boy’s life end this way. They will take him into a back room, and he will die alone and afraid. There must be someone out there who can offer this sweetheart a second chance, he’s already lost so much. Please advocate for him RIGHT NOW!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Big Boy came into the care center as an owner surrender, though we have no information on his behavior in his previous home. Before intake he was calm and easy to handle, but he does not appear to be acclimating well to the shelter environment. He has allowed handling and examination, but remains immobile when visited and avoids interaction. Reaction to assessor: Big Boy is resting in his cage when approached. He looks up, body a bit tense, eyes wide. Reaction to cage door opening: Big Boy flinches and body lowers when the door opens. Reaction to touch: Big Boy leans away from the assessor’s outstretched hand. Eyes are wide, ears slightly lowered. He allows gentle touch but remains tense and continues to avoid interaction. Placement determination: Experienced home without children Big Boy tolerates some attention and petting but appears fearful and stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
