Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Beryl was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Beryl was at the front of the kennel reaching out with paws towards the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Beryl presses his head up against the kennel door, rubs up, and continues reaching out for attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Beryl gets up and is eager to get out. Reaction to touch: Beryl sniffs the assessor’s hand, lip licks, moves around quickly and paces back and forth rubbing against the assessor’s hand. He appreciates attention, allows petting all over his body and gives soft head butts when rubbed on his head. Reaction to being picked up: Beryl was a bit tense when picked up but remains calm and allows all handling. Behavior Determination: Average Beryl interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
