Safe - 9-9-2016 Staten Island
***SAFE 09/09/16*** BELLA AND KITTENS – DAFFODIL, BIBBLE AND GOLDIE WERE DUMPED BECAUSE THE OWNER CLAIMS THEY HAVE TOO MANY CATS! BELLA is just 2 years old and is fighting for the right to live, along with her 3 – 2 week old babies. How an owner that DID NOT SPAY their cat then she’s pregnant…and now dump her because she has too many cats??? Of course she has too many…she didn’t SPAY her cat!!! So then the previous owner DUMPED this little family at a HIGH KILL SHELTER! They need a FOSTER and a New Hope rescue to pull them to safety! Please contact a New Hope rescue and give this family the gift of their lives back!

09/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bella came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who describes her as friendly, playful and tolerant with a medium energy level. Upon intake, Bella was friendly and allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Bella is lying down, relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bella continues to be soft. Reaction to cage door opening: Bella picks her head up a bit. Reaction to touch: Bella moves a bit to avoid touch, but allows petting. Placement Determination: Experience Bella tolerates attention and petting but may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that Bella will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents. Please be advised that Bella was nursing her kittens at the time of assessment, and the behavior presented at the time of evaluation may differ.
