***SAFE 09/07/16***Belize was found as a stray by someone and brought to the ACC because they felt like she would get hurt on the streets. They probably weren’t aware that her chances are 50/50 because as soon as she enters the ACC’s doors, the clock starts ticking. She is a pure black domestic kitty estimated to be about 3 years old. She’s a little independent so she is rated for experienced cat parents. Please give this beautiful girl a chance at finding the home that she deserves by applying to adopt or foster her tonight.

08/25/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Belize was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Belize is alert at the back with wide eyes focused on the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Belize lip licks and slowly looks around, wary of his surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Belize remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Belize leans away as you approach him and slowly relaxes when pet. His body rises up, comes forward slowly with his tail at body level and appreciates attention. Reaction to being picked up: Belize has a tense body, lip licks and doesn’t mind being held. When placed down he stays at the front and continues to rub up against the assessor. Behavior Determination: Experience Belize may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
