07/10/17 17:42 Basic Information: Beau is a 12 year old male cat who was surrendered due to his previous family having allergies toward him Socialization: Around strangers Beau is shy for a few minutes and plays gently with adults. Beau will hide whenever children come around his home so it is unknown how he will react to interacting with them. Beau has never been around other cats or dogs so it is unknown how he will react to being around them. Behavior: Beau has never bitten another person or animal and will often have litter box accidents at home. Beau is relaxed when riding in a car. Beau enjoys being given a bath, being brushed, being picked up/held, being placed in a carrier and doesn’t mind being disturbed while resting/sleeping. For a New family to Know: Beau is described as mellow and talkative with a low activity level. When at home Beau rarely seeks attention and was kept indoors only. Beau was fed wet food and is litter box trained with accidents a couple times a week. Beau used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. Beau is declawed and did not need a scratching post. Intake Behavior: Beau was very curious about his surroundings and would constantly look around. Beau allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Allows full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 07/11/17 Sitting in the back of his kennel. He stands up when I open the kennel door and comes forward to head-butt my hand. Allows petting along his head and body while leaning gently and raising his tail as my hand passes along his back. Friendly senior boy. Doing well! EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Beau was lying down at the front of the kennel with his head resting against the cage door. Reaction when softly spoken to: Beau leans forward to sniff then rises up and looks out the kennel and scans his surroundings Reaction to cage door opening: Beau is curious and steps out the kennel. Reaction to touch: Beau accepts petting but he’s very curious and seems more interested in exploring his surroundings. His tail and body perk up when pet along his back and he slowly leans against the assessor’s hand for cheek rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Beau was calm, relaxed and allowed all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Curious BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Beau interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
