09/07/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Steady VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Bold, Independent MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 9/5/17- Subjective: Bright, Alert, Responsive; timid but friendly ENRICHMENT NOTES: 9/6/17 Crouched in litter box, wide-eyed, seems anxious. Became alert when door opened, eyes dilated, shifted backwards. Sat up and leaned away when attempted touch, started lip licking. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Bear remains tense, sitting upright at the back hiding in the cage cubby during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Bear retreats with an intense gaze, stiff body, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Bear distance increases looks away from the assessor’s hand and began to lip lick in place. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Bear may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to her new home and family at her own pace.
