Beachy A1111517 – 15 yr spayed black/white cat, OS:

Lying with a relaxed body in litterbox. She allows petting along her head and body, leaning in gently and rolling over in her box. Doing well!
Basic info:
Beachy is a 15 yr. old spayed DSH cat who was surrendered due to the fact her owner is moving and she cannot have her in the new home. Owner stated that she has had Beachy since she was 8 weeks old. Beachy has no known medical issues.
Socialization:
Owner stated that when around strangers Beachy is friendly and outgoing. Beachy has not spent time around children so it is unknown how she will react. When playing with adults Beachy is gentle. Beachy has spent time around a 3 year old cat and is very tolerant. Owner stated t6hat Beachy does not play with the other cat. Beachy has never spent time around dogs.
Behavior:
Owner stated t6hat when on the way here in the car Beachy was quiet. When Beachy is being bathed she will struggle to get away. She has never had her nails trimmed by her owner. Beachy is bothered if she is held, brushed or disturbed why she sleeps. When being put in the carrier she struggled to get away.
For a new family to know:
Owner described Beachy as friendly, affectionate, mellow, and independent with a medium activity level. Owner stated that Beachy can open doors on her own. Owner also steed that Beachy likes to sleep and lay around the house. When at home she will stay in her favorite spot. He doesn’t play with toys anymore. She has been kept indoors only. She eats wet food but does not like pate’ She is very much litter box trained and never has accidents. She uses a hooded litter box with clumping litter. She likes to scratch her post that is made out of rope.

Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor: Beachy was relaxed on her blanket with her paws folded under her body.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Beachy looks at the assessor with soft eyes and didn’t get up or come forward when coaxed.
Reaction to cage door opening: Beachy is calm.
Reaction to touch: Beachy sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting and attention all over her body. She leans in when rubbed on her cheeks then slowly comes forward while gently brushing against the assessor’s arm.
Reaction to being picked up: Beachy is calm, relaxed and allows all handling.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Easy going, Sweet
BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average
Beachy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Spayed – reported by owner, spay scar palpated
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: Geriatric, dental disease
Plan: Rec dental cleaning, +/- extractions with placement
Prognosis: Good short term prognosis
