BB Eight came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, BB Eight was fearful. Reaction to assessor: BB Eight is sitting at the side of her cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: BB Eight looks at the assessor, tense. Reaction to cage door opening: BB Eight slowly backs up. Reaction to touch: BB Eight shifts to avoid being touched, hisses, but allows a few soft strokes. Placement Determination: Experience No Child BB Eight avoids interaction with the assessor but is tolerant of some handling. BB Eight is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children who can allow her appropriate adjustment time to a new home environment.
