***SAFE 10/29/16***PURRFECTLY HEALTHY YOUNG & HANDSOME BOY NEEDS YOU! Bay is a one year old shy, quiet and gentle fab fella who needs a kind purrson to offer him a new “leash” on life. Bay was a stray surrender who was dumped at the kill happy shelter and is very scared. He needs someone who can offer him the chance to decompress from his ACC experience. Bay needs to learn to trust people. He tolerates petting and handling–just needs a quiet home without kids and to have a chance to warm up to humans. Please give him this chance by offering to foster or adopt. Email our help desk for assistance–[email protected] Transportation is available. Let’s do everything we can to ensure that this healthy, handsome, young and good boy gets moved to safe haven. Make Bay YOURS by making the call for him NOW!!!

10/19/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bay was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Bay was lying down on his blanket and keeps his body lowered at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bay’s eyes widen and he becomes focused on all movements. Reaction to cage door opening: Bay slowly moves away and presses his body up against the back wall. Reaction to touch: Bay leans away when the assessor extends his hand out and flinches when touched. He slowly moves to the front with his ears bent flat and his tail lowered. His body is tense, he starts to breathe heavily and he becomes immobile when touched. Behavior Determination: Experience No Children Bay tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
