Barnes 8737 – 3 month old male black kitten:

Sitting crouched in front of kennel. Makes eye contact and hisses, flattening his ears. Retreats to back of his kennel as I reach towards him and tolerates petting along his head and body while lowering himself and closing his eyes. Needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway.

EENT: Eyes MPOD and mod chemosis OD, MPOD and conj/ scleral hyperemia OS. Ears slightly dirty. Serous nasal discharge noted.
Oral Exam: no ulcers, normal kitten dentitia
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Pot bellied – distended abd. Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: male intact – 2 scrotal testicles
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Rectal:

URI.
Ok for rabies – age.
Prognosis: Good
Plan:
Erythromycin eye oint OU BID x 7 days – first dose given.
Clavamox 0.3 cc po bid x 10 days – first dose given.
Clean eyes and ears.
SURGERY:
Temporary waiver due to URI.
