I am a male gray tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/29/2016 from NY 10310, owner surrender reason stated was ABANDON.

12/02/2016 Exam Type OBSERVATION – Medical Rating is 4 NC – SEVERE CONDITIONS NOT CONTAGIOUS, Behavior Rating is NH ONLY, Weight 9.6 LBS.
Technicians are no longer able to give prednisone orally. Attempted to give crushed in food today but Banquet would not eat it. Okay to discontinue prednisone and see if the convenia injection given on 11/29/16 helps with skin condition. Asked Ana to have Leticia delete the remaining doses of prednisone

11/29/16 15:47 Animal’s appearance – Banquet appeared clean and of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor – Banquet sat quietly in the carrier with wide eyes. I was able to pet, scan for a microchip, and collar without a problem.

Banquet came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Banquet was nervous but allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Banquet hisses. Reaction when softly spoken to: Banquet quietly approaches the front of the cage, sniffing. Reaction to cage door opening: Banquet retreats, sits in the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Banquet strikes at the assessor and hisses, does not allow handling. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Banquet does not approach the assessor or solicit petting, and does not tolerate handling. Banquet is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.

S: initial exam; stray cat O: BAR mm’s pink, moist OU- clear AU- clean minimal dental calc no murmur, regular rhythm lungs clear and eupneic abdomen- snp MI, 2 descended testicles BCS 5/9 no fleas or flea dirt seen erythematous plaques seen on medial left hindlimb; small area of alopecia and scabbing at right stifle no microchip on scan A: skin lesions on hindlimbs- R/O eosiniphiliic plaques vs atopy vs food allergy vs dermatophytosis vs other P: gave convenia injection 0.4 mls SQ (x) recommend hypoallergenic diet start prednisone (no prednisolone available) 5 mg PO SID x 1 week, then 2.5 mg PO SID x 1 week, then 2.5 mg PO EOD for 1 week
