11/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Banner was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Banner was curled up at the back of the kennel in his litter box with his head lowered. Reaction when softly spoken to: Banner lowers his head, tries to avoid eye contact then sinks lower into his litter box. Reaction to cage door opening: Banner remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Banner lip licks then looks around frantically looking for an exit when the assessor extends his hand out. He hisses then quickly rushes forward attempting to flee and currently allows no contact. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Banner is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
