*** SAFE 10/25/16 *** EBONY GUY GOOD WITH KIDS!! BANDIT is 6 months old and lived with a 10 month old child and a 10 year old child….Playful and sweet (he likes laser pointers), EBONY got along famously with his fellow feline housemates (also surrendered). Sadly, he is scared and sad at the shelter and has not done well in the adoptions room….He is probably wondering what has happened to his family, feline and human…..So instead of working with BANDIT, the ACC has listed him. BANDIT IS A GREAT FAMILY CAT!! Please don’t let his life end at NOON tomorrow!! He is publicly adoptable or can be reserved through a rescue!! EITHER WAY IT’S A WIN FOR BANDIT!!

10/18/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Per his previous owner, Bandit is friendly and outgoing around strangers, rubbing against their legs and wants to be pet. He has lived with a 10-year-old and a 10-month-old. Around the children, he is relaxed and affectionate. He plays well with adults by gently pawing and playing with any toys in front of her. He rubs against the children hands and is gentle playing. He has lived with three other kittens and a one-year-old cat. They all play together and are very relaxed around each other. He rolls around with the other kittens. He has never been around a dog. At intake, the counselor reports he was calm and easy to handle. Our enrichment facilitator notes that Bandit has been fearful in the adoptions room, hissing at people when they approach his cage. He can get very upset when touched and tends to spend most of his time in the “cubby” section of his cage, out of view. At times, however, he’s shown a playful side, but tends to become fearful when interacted with. Reaction to assessor: Bandit was resting quietly, eyes closed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bandit remains motionless, mostly ignoring the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Bandit remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Bandit allows a little head petting, but when attempting to pet body becomes upset, hisses and growls and snaps head around. Reaction to pick-up: Bandit was not willing to be picked up at this time. Behavior Determination: Experienced Home Without Children Bandit may be fearful or stressed at the shelter and need extra time to warm up in his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
