07/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Banana came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Banana was hissing and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Banana is sitting in the back of her cage, body neutral. Reaction when softly spoken to: Banana slowly approaches the front of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Banana remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Banana head-butts the assessor and begins to purr. Reaction to pick up: Banana is calm during this type of handling. Placement Determination: Average Banana approaches the assessor, solicits petting and allows all handling. Banana is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents, though due to her behavior at intake, we recommend adopters be prepared for a slow adjustment to the new home environment.
