04/05/17 12:30 Basic Information: Bailey is a 2 year old neutered male domestic shorthair. He was adopted from ACC two years ago. He appears healthy and has no health concerns. Owner surrenders Bailey due to allergies in the home. Social Life and Personality: Bailey lived with three adults and a 9 year old. Owner stated Bailey is shy for a few minutes around strangers then warms up. He is relaxed, affectionate, and respectful towards the child in the home. Bailey has never lived with other cats but lived in a home with three small dogs. Owner stated she is tolerant towards the dogs and keeps his distance. Owner stated his activity is to a medium and describe as mellow and independent. Behavior: Bailey has never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. He was never given a bath but had nail trims. He isn’t bothered when picked up and held or being in carrier. For a New Family to Know: Bailey is trained to use bathroom in litter box. He sleeps on front of owner’s bed and eats dry food all day. He likes to follow owner around the house but not interested in toys. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Bailey was calm and relaxed when he came out carrier then eyes became dilated but never hiss, growl or swat. He scanned positive for a microchip and allowed all handling.

KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: three adults, a 9 year old, and 3 small dogs Behavior toward strangers: shy for a few minutes around strangers then warms up Behavior toward children: relaxed, affectionate, and respectful Behavior toward cats: unknown Behavior toward dogs: tolerant towards the dogs and keeps his distance Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Energy level/descriptors: medium activity level Other notes: described as mellow and independent MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – allows exam but then pinned ears back and struck EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Bailey looks neutral, lying down on her cage bedding when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Bailey engages the front and began to solicit attention, rubbing against the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Bailey continues to seek attention. Reaction to touch: Bailey allows a brief touch on the head, but quickly becomes agitated and swats (no claws) then escalades to a hiss. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Curious and Independent RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced, adult home only Bailey may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to his new home and family at her own pace.
