Profile:
Basic information:
Baby is a 12 yr. old female domestic short hair mix. The owner surrendered Baby because she moved to a place that does not allow pets. Baby has no health problems and the owner has not taken him to a vet.
Socialization:
The owner states that around strangers Baby is somewhat shy. Baby has not lived with children or been around them. Baby has never been around other pets so the owner has no idea how Baby would behave around them. Baby has never bitten or scratched anyone.
Behavior:
Baby has never been bathed, had his nails trimmed. He does not mind having his coat brushes, being picked up and being placed in a cat carrier.
For a new family to know:
The owner describes Baby shy but friendly cat with a medium activity level. Baby has played with rubber ball and string cat toys; she lives mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that she wants. In the home Baby will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Baby eats Friskies brand w cat food and is open feed. She is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Baby has never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if she will use it or not.
Behavior during intake:
During intake Baby was very tense with stiff body, she allowed us to scan (-) put on collar and placed in cat kennel. When handling however Baby growled and hissed at the handler.
