**SAFE 04/15/16** BEAUTIFUL AVERY IS OUT OF TIME! This gorgeous 4 year old girl was dumped off at the shelter as a stray. She is stressed out in the scary environment there, and who can blame her? It’s probably cold, with all sorts of scary sounds, and she can surely smell the DEATH IN THE AIR! She wants affection, but is afraid and unsure of herself. Kitties like Avery often shine after given time to decompress in a relaxed home environment. Please don’t let her slip away. This lady needs a NEW HOPE RESCUE to pull her to safety. Please contact the Help Desk at [email protected] for assistance RIGHT NOW!

04/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Avery and at the time she did not allow contact. Avery charges the kennel door. Avery ears were flat and she low growled during entire interaction. Reaction to assessor: Avery comes to the front of the cage and rubs on the door When spoken quietly: Avery stays at the front and continues to rub against the cage door Reaction to door cage opening: Avery remains relaxed Reaction to touch: Avery allows limited petting before backing away with her tail flickering and no longer allows contact. Try picking cat up: Did not attempt due to Avery becoming agitated. Behavior Determination: NewHope Avery was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying seemingly friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel and interacts with the Assessor. Avery only allows a limited amount of attention before becoming agitated. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
