GONE 4/7/17 Poor Ashley was brought in badly injured – she was trapped between the wheel/axel of a car and has a pubic fracture and unable to use her hind limbs – not eating – Needs medical and rescue!!

Medical Behavior Evaluation ORANGE
Medical Summary DVM Intake Exam Findings History Cat trapped in wheel/ axel of car/ Cat freed himself but visibly injured. Subjective In feral den. Did not come out. Not eating overnight. Observed Behavior – Hissing, growling. Sedated w telazol 0.1 cc for exam and xrays. Evidence of Cruelty seen – none. Evidence of Trauma seen – abrasions and bruising LFL, L hip/ anal area and tail. 2 yo female intact cat, recently had kittens. Objective BCS= 5/9 QAR. 8 % dehydrated. EENT: Eyes clear, ears mildly dirty but no d/c, no nasal discharge noted/ Oral Exam: NSF – young cat. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: HR= 180, NSR, NMA, MM pale pk, CRT 2+. Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated. No kittens palpated. U/G: Female intact. Distended mammary glands – able to extrude a little milk. MSI: Did not stand up in den – does not appear to be using pelvic limbs, fleas seen, no masses noted, abrasions and bruising LFL, L hip/ anal area and tail. CNS: mentation appropriate. No anal tone. Unable to assess neuro on pelvic limbs- sedated due to behavior. But suspect no tail tone. Rectal: Some MP discharge, no anal tone, no feces noted. Assessment Injury pelvic limbs. Wounds. Neurologic – no anal tone – r/o spinal/ nerve injury Lactating. Dehydrated. Plan Xray spine and pelvis: Pelvic fx mid L ileum but does not cross acetabulum. Caudal ileum, coxal joint and ischium displaced medially. Pubis fx. Dislocation at T7 to S1 joint. Urine dipstick: Sp Gr 1.055, blood 4+, prot 3+, leuk 3+, else NSF. Gave 125 cc sqf and Pen G 0.4 cc. (SQF and simbadol given last night.) Prognosis: Guared to poor – neurologic injury. Re-assess neuro tomorrow. If not able to get around and eat ok and still has no anal tone, recom EHR.
