I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 10/06/2016 from NY 10457, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Asher was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. His finder reports they were able to pick him up. He attempts to flee, but allows his handler to hold onto him. He was tense during his initial medical exam, but also allowed handling and did not display any signs of aggression. Reaction to assessor: Asher was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Asher stretches and looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Asher remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Asher was a bit hesitant, but accepts petting and head-butts lightly. He arches his back, begins to purr, and approaches the front to knead. Reaction to being picked up: Asher was a bit tense during pick up, but he remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Asher interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
