09/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Arya was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Her finder was able to catch her and reports she has been living in the neighborhood with many other cats. She was tense around people and appeared ill. She was nervous during her initial medical exam, but allowed handling. Reaction to assessor: Arya becomes alert and retreats to the back when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Arya meows softly and has a low body posture. Reaction to cage door opening: Arya remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Arya was hesitant of touch, but allows petting on her head and body. She lifts her rear up when pet on her lower back, but still seems unsure and wary of her surroundings. Behavior Determination: Experience Arya tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
