Behavior Assessment Date:
Artemis was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment.
Subjective: sweet and friendly
Resting on bedding, wide-eyed, seemed a little unsure. Lay in place when door opened, briefly hunched down when touched, then started to warm up and lean into pets. Sat calmly when held. Sweet, just a little shy. Sprayed thunderease.
Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Became alert, flinched back slightly when door opened. Allowed, then slightly leaned into pets, rolled over on side. Warmed up immensely when held. Leaned hard into pets, purred, rolled all the way over on back. Ate offered treats when returned to cage.
Reaction to assessor:
Artemis looks neutral lying down on his cage bedding during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Artemis becomes alert with eyes wide open.
Reaction to cage door opening:
Artemis body stiffens, ears erect and forward.
Reaction to touch:
Artemis was hesitant at first then quickly warms up and engages with loose body and tail up. He began to head bunt the assessor’s hand while purring and appreciates the petting on the head and body.
Reaction to being picked up:
Allows the pickup and remains calm.
