***SAFE 08/29/16*** SWEET 1 YEAR OLD KITTEN ARIES WAS SPAY ABORTED AND NOW IS BEING KILLED FOR HAVING A COLD THE SHELTER GAVE HER!! ARIES was brought into the shelter with another cat by someone who said there are “a lot of cats that are underweight and passing away” so he brought them to the KILL shelter. Did he ever think of FEEDING the cats? Really now!! This person trapped poor ARIES in his yard. She is a cutie pie and very sweet too. A volunteer writes: Aries is a sweet tabby girl who looks at you so lovingly and blinks so softly. She is very affectionate, alert and she just loves attention, especially in the form of being petted. In return, she will show her appreciation by head butting. Aries is such a sweetheart, that the family fortunate enough to adopt her will be so glad that they did! ARIES is only a kitten and is hoping for her rescue angel to arrive tonight. There is only one way to save her life and that is to offer to FOSTER or ADOPT. Email the help desk at firstname.lastname@example.org for rescue info.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Aries was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was a bit fearful upon intake and was very vocal. She allowed all handling to be conducted during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Aries was by the front, but becomes alert when approached and slowly retreats to the back. Reaction when softly spoken to: Aries looks at the assessor and blinks softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Aries remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Aries sniffs the assessor’s hand and lightly head-butts. She leans in for petting and rolls over. She appears shy when approached, but is very affectionate during the interaction. Reaction to pick up: Aries is tense during pick up, but remains calm when held. Behavior Determination: Average Aries interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
