04/23/16 20:19 Behavior during intake: This cat is large. It didn’t show much interest in moving around or running. The cat allowed me to collar her and take her photo with no issue, Basic information: Ariel is one and a half years old. She is spayed. She was born in her former owner’s home. She is big and she is beautiful. Her former owner had to surrender her to MACC due to allergies. Socialization: Ariel is a little nervous when she first meets someone new but she does warm up eventually. She has been around children from ages 3-12. She is very gentle with both kids and adults. She isn’t the most playful cat in the world but she takes naps like a true champion. Ariel has never lived with any other cats. She did live with a large lab and they were respectful of each other’s space. Behavior history: This relaxed and loving cat has never bitten or scratched another animal or person. She seems to really enjoy car rides. Ariel is a true mermaid when it comes getting a bath. She loves it! She does not however, like being picked up or held. For a new family to know: Ariel is described as a very mellow and affectionate cat. She will follow close behind her owner when they’re home. She does like to play with balls and stuffed toys sometimes. She can use both uncovered and hooded litter boxes. She loves a good scratching post.

Ariel’s former owner stated she is a little nervous when she first meets someone new, but she does warm up eventually. She has been around children from ages 3-12. She is very gentle with both kids and adults. She isn’t the most playful cat in the world but she takes naps like a true champion. Ariel has never lived with any other cats. She did live with a large lab and they were respectful of each other’s space. Reaction to assessor: Ariel immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Ariel remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Ariel head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She calmly jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Beginner Ariel interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
