She’s still a young thing, only a year and a half old and with a little patience, she has great potential!! 04/18/16 09:43 Basic Information Ari was brought in as a stray, after being found in the backyard of MACC. While walking in the back, a volunteer spotted her. The volunteer was able to pick her up and bring her into the care center. A staff member also interacted with Ari. He says the cat seemed a bit cautious and alert but still social, allowing contact. Behavior during Intake Ari was cautious during intake She had dilated pupils and upright alert ears. Ari sniffed counselor’s hand, then later allowed petting. Ari allowed counselor to remove her from a carrier, and conduct all handling. Ari showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Ari looks tense in the cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Ari remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Ari flinches during the touch, but slowly warms up and began to lean into the assessor’s hand while she remains cautious with her surroundings. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Experience Ari tolerates attention and petting, but may be stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
