*** SAFE 09/04/16 *** APOLLO’S MELLOW PURRSONALITY SHINES THROUGH! APOLLO is a two year old guy who was only owner by the current owners for two months and dumped at the shelter for a child’s allergies. Quite frankly, this family doesn’t sound that great so it is no surprise that we see APOLLO at the ACC. APOLLO likes to take his time to get to know people an he lived with a dog that he ignored. He has a purrfectly wonderful AVERAGE rating and would be a lovely addition to a single or family household (one with children that were taught not to handle animals roughly)……
IF YOU CAN SAVE THIS HANDSOME LAD TONIGHT, PLEASE APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!!…We can help with rescue info at [email protected]

08/20/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/20/16 19:00 Apollo was brought in because his previous owner’s child developed allergies. They had him for two months. They reported that he was shy for a few days, hiding from them and rubbing on their legs but wouldn’t let them pet him. After a few days he warmed up and let them pet him. The client claimed that he acted similarly around her 8 and 13 year old children, but the 13 year old stated to counselor “he doesn’t like me”. It seems like he would rub against children but hide if they attempted to handle him roughly. He has lived with a medium sized dog. He tolerated the dog, but generally stayed away from it. He was reported to meow a lot and to scratch furniture. He likes to be picked up and held by his adult owner and is easy to put into a carrier. He was described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, and talkative. He has a low to medium activity level. He likes to hide for a good part of the day. He is used to an uncovered litter box, and has never had a scratching post. If he had one it may resolve the furniture scratching issues.
