Hello, my name is Angelo. My animal id is #12853. I am a male brown kitten at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 10 weeks old. – P
I came into the shelter as a stray on 16-Nov-2017.
Angelo is at risk for medical concerns. He is a 10 week old kitten with ringworm, which is contagious both to other animals and to people. His litter-mate Levi is at risk for the same reason.

[LVT Intake Exam] Litter total of 3 semi feral kittens Microchip Scan: negative, placed 981020021206795 Evidence of Cruelty: no Observed Behavior: tense and shrinks away from touch but does not resist, will flee to carrier if released Sex: intact male Estimated Age: appx 3m Subjective: found abandoned in a carrier, visible flea infestation, dirty haircoat Eyes: clear Ears: clean Oral Exam: pale mm, deciduous Heart: WNL Lungs: WNL Abdomen: WNL Musculoskeletal: WNL BCS 5/9 Mentation: BARH Preliminary Assessment: seemingly healthy kittens with parasitism Plan: DVM intake
DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 10-12 weeks based on weight and dentition Microchip noted on Intake? Scanned neg on intake History : Stray, came in with 2 littermates. One littermate has obvious fluorescing ringworm lesions. Subjective: Alert, timid Observed Behavior – Eyes wide, tense, trembling. Allows all handling. Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9 EENT: Round alopecic regions with central scabs on lateral ears – one on each ear. Mild epiphora OU but eyes clear. Ears clean. No nasal or ocular discharge noted. Oral Exam: Deciduous teeth only. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male intact MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Wood’s lamp – negative, including ear lesions Assessment: Ringworm highly likely Prognosis: Good with treatment Plan: 1. DTM culture tonight 2. Lime sulfur dips twice weekly until two negative DTMs are obtained 3. Itrafungol 0.6 ml PO SID x21 days SURGERY: Temporary waiver due to ringworm. 1088

KNOWN HISTORY:: Angelo was brought in as a stray so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:: Observed Behavior – Eyes wide, tense, trembling. Allows all handling.
Cage Condition:: Cage is slightly re-arranged
Reaction to assessor:: Angelo is asleep on approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Angelo wakes up and continues to lay in place, looking at the assessor with soft eyes.
Reaction to cage door opening:: Angelo remains calm and relaxed.
Reaction to touch:: Angelo leans into the stroke and begins to purr.
Reaction to being picked up:: Angelo sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and looks around.
