07/09/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Angel was brought in without information on her behavior in her previous home. She allowed all handling during intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – great for exam, very relaxed. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Angel was lying down, neutral inside his cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Angel’s eyes dart back and forth from the assessor to the room. Reaction to cage door opening: Angel becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Angel hisses and focuses on the assessor’s hand. He was hesitant of touch, but he tolerates gentle petting on his head, but seemed wary of his surroundings and appeared very uncomfortable. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Independent RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced, adult only home – Angel tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.
