02/29/16 16:31 Basic Information: Angel is a three year old brown tabby neutered dsh. He was surrendered due to owner moving and not having the time to care for him. He is described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He was with his owner since he was a kitten and was adopted from ACC. Socialization: Angel has lived with one adult and three children. Owner stated around children he is described as playful and relaxed. Owner stated he will engage in exuberant play and run around the home with the child. Around strangers he is outgoing and will greet them by rubbing their legs when they enter the home.He has not been around other cats or dogs. Behavior: Angel was not bathed or had his nails trimmed by owner. He enjoys being brushed and likes to be cradled when he is held. He will struggle when placed in a carrier; owner stated Angel does not like to be confined. He is litterbox trained and owner statd he does not have accidents outside the box. For a new family to know: Angel has a medium activity level owner stated he loves to play at night. He likes to play with chasing toys, stuffed mice, and bells. His favorite activity is window watching, owner stated he loves to sit and watch the neighborhood cats. He has been kept only indoors and sleeps in his cat bed. He eats wet and dry food and had an automatic dispenser in the home. He uses a hooded litterbox and Freshtep litter. He had a vertical carpet scratching post which he used in the home. Upon intake Angel was calm and had a loose body, he allowed all handling. Counselor was able to scan (positive), collar and photograph.

Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Angel and at the time his ears was bend flat and his body was low in litter box. Angel was very tense but tolerated petting although he was very uncomfortable. Reaction to assessor: Angel stays at the back of the cage and watches the assessor nervously When spoken quietly: Angel stays at the back of the cage and watches the assessor nervously Reaction to door cage opening: Angel remains motionless Reaction to touch: Angel allows petting with a slow and gentle touch Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Angel was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
