AMILIA – A1071464
Safe - 5-2-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Staten Island Hope Please honor your pledges: http://www.statenislandhoperescue.org/
**SAFE 05/02/16** NO KIDDING, SHERLOCK! Whoever captured 9-month-old Amilia found that this PREGNANT kitten was “difficult to trap,” when they decided to have themselves a little cat roundup on April 25th. Amilia is nobody’s fool, and of course she would have been suspicious of anyone trying to lock her up and throw away the key. Amilia has naturally been fearful at the ACC, earning an EXPNOCHILD rating and a spot on tonight’s At-Risk List. This pretty baby girl deserves to feel loving arms around her, which will only happen if a foster/adopter steps up for her tonight!

04/28/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Amilia and at the times he hissed upon approach. Amilia was alert and retreats to the back. Amilia allows petting briefly but whips around when touched on rear. Reaction to assessor: Amilia watches the assessor tensely from the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Amilia continues to stay at the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Amilia remains motionless Reaction to touch: Amilia allows limited petting and does not like the base of her tail touched Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Amilia was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
