07/14/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/14/17 13:54 Basic Information: Amaru is a neutered male DSH cat, estimated to be one year old. He was given to her previous owner by the person who owned him prior. He was surrendered because his previous owner lives in a home that does not allow pets. He has no known injuries or health problems but has not been seen by a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Amaru was shy for about a week; he would hide and wouldn’t interact. He lived with a 2 year old child and spent time with a 10 year old. Around then he was usually tolerant but stayed hidden for the most park. He lived with another cat that was his age, spayed female. With her he was relaxed and affectionate and exuberant at play. Behavior: Amaru has scratched and drawn blood before, however it was more than 10 days ago. He has never bitten or scratched a person. He is afraid of being picked up and struggles to get away, he is also afraid of being placed in a carrier; he struggles and hisses. He isn’t bothered when placed in a carrier or disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Amaru is described as friendly, playful, shy, independent and quiet with a medium activity level. The thing his previous owner liked most about her was he stayed to himself and is sweet with his sister. When his previous owner was home he would tend to be in his favorite spot. He was kept indoors only and at night he slept under a couch. He ate both wet and dry Friskies. He is litter box trained and used an uncovered litter box and clumping litter. He did not have a scratching post but scratched on furniture made of fabric. Behavior during intake: Amaru had a low tense body and hissed when approached but allowed me to pet him while in his carrier. When it was opened he popped his head out and looked at his surroundings. He came out of his carrier easily when offered food. He allowed me to pet him whle out of his carrier. He backed away when collar was being put on and hissed with i attempted to pick him up but touching his sides.
