No d/c from wound. AllStar was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. She was timid during intake, but she remained relaxed and allowed handling to be conducted.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR:
Observed Behavior: Nervous and quiet but allowed all medical handling and wound treatment without a struggle. Very well behaved
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is neat
Reaction to assessor: Allstar was lying down by the back, neutral.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Allstar looks at the assessor, but would avert her gaze.
Reaction to cage door opening: Allstar remains motionless.
Reaction to touch: Allstar starts to breathe rapidly, but she sniffs the assessor’s hand when offered. She lowers her head and accepts gentle petting, closing her eyes and warms up. She still appears unsure and will wrap her tail around her body, but will shift her body into a comfortable position after.
Reaction to being picked up: Allstar is slightly tense during pick up, but allows handling.

– Experienced cat parent – Allstar tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

INT: ~1.5cm puncture wound on left caudodorsal spine that has a deep pocket extending to the right about 4cm to another small puncture ~0.5cm that has scabbed over. Mild serous d/c from larger wound-improved from yesterday (less d/c than yesterday). Healthy granulation bed
